IT BUSINESS ANALYST

This position interacts with prospective and new home delivery clients on technical matters. Candidate will provide specifications to new clients on what data to provide and in what format; directs clients and internal staff in testing of files; and performs comparisons between client and PCF data to ensure systems are in sync. In instances when clients cannot provide PCF in the prescribed format, this position works with clients to determine what can be provided and directs development of interface software to convert client supplied data into a standard format.

Responsibilities include conducting fact-finding meetings with clients to define what and how data will be communicated between PCF and clients, documenting results of meetings, setting up new clients in CIS (the circulation system) either directly or by guiding others and designing and developing functional specifications for custom interface software for use by PCF to pre-process files from clients in other than standard format. Candidate will develop and execute test plans to test files created by new clients, oversee testing of files and communicate results to clients. Must be able to establish and execute file matching procedures with clients, determine and reconcile differences and work with clients to implement system or process changes to eliminate differences. Information that is gathered will be communicated to New York Times to set up new clients in CIS. You will determine and create specifications for The New York Times to develop pre-processors and respond to client questions and information requests as needed.

Must have 3 - 5 years experience in IT systems analysis, as well as prior experience performing similar work or functions. Software design helpful but not required. Bachelors degree desirable but not required. Candidate must have the ability to design and oversee development of custom software and the ability to manage implementation of several clients concurrently. Must have very strong client presentation, interpersonal and communication skills.
